Wearwell-904VRN 4 Person Outdoor Ultra-Low EMF Far Infrared Sauna in Red Cedar (Larger + Red Light)

My wife and I were looking for a sauna to buy each other for Christmas. I did some internet research and looked about available products and customer feedback. We settled on the Wearwell-904VR 4 Person by SalusHeat and from that time on, we were very happy with our decision. After purchasing, we received a call from the shipping company and they offered a certain time, but since we were going to be on vacation they texted us with an alternate time and delivered on the date as promised. I would not say the assembly was flawless on our part, but overall it went very well and the majority of the time spent was unpacking the nicely packed walls, floor and roof of the sauna. I'm going to say it took around five hours with two somewhat skilled people. My only suggestion to SalusHeat to improve the process would be to label the two sides and show front and top on the panels.
We had a 20 amp socket, so we just purchased the appropriate adapter from home depot and ran and extension chord to the unit and that night, we were taking a sauna. The controls are very straightforward. With a max temp of the high 140's fahrenheit, the heat up time is quite minimal. We purchased the four person spa knowing that we only needed one for two, but the dimensions fit perfectly into the space that we allocated and the sauna is comfortable for two. Four would seem to be a strecth to me, but I'm sure it is possible. The cover worked out great. We did have to cut off the fringe since we thought it would look nicer and we would have rather had a brown tone then grey, but it does a great job of protecting the sauna. We purchased the parquet floor, but in the end returned, because it seemed like you had to cut it to get a custom fit. We simply use a bathroom rug mat and it works great. Also, the backrest make it so much more comfortable so we would really suggest those.
We had a couple of inquiries with customer service and they got back to us within the day with the answers that we needed.
We are very happy with our choice of Sauna. It looks great both during the day and night and provides a great sauna experience. We would not hesitate recommending to anyone. Thanks for the opportunity to review the Sauna.

Let me start by stating that our Sauna (Wearwell-904VR 4 Person Outdoor Low EMF Infrared Sauna in Red Cedar) is set up and working perfectly. We have made a few modifications, which will be apparent in the pictures, that include adding an outlet and salt wall. This essentially converts our sauna into a salt room - which is exactly what we were looking to do. Now, how we finally got here...

The original shipment showed up on time, and although the boxes showed some damage the inside panels were fine. Before we accepted the boxes I texted Salus Heat via the web site and received an immediate response providing me with instructions on how to proceed. Customer service is OUTSTANDING, more on that later... While setting up the sauna (very easy process) it became clear that the final panel (front of unit) had it's finish improperly applied (picture attached as well).

I contacted customer service and they immediately replied with some recommendations. I tried their recommendations but the work would have been too difficult (sanding). I requested, and the sent another front door panel (box b). This one was also defective. The suggested I contact someone who can refinish the panel and that they would reimburse me. I was unable to find anyone to do this. I suggested that they send someone to their warehouse in CA to inspect the next box before they sent me a replacement. They did, and I received a new box b a week or so later that was acceptable. This allowed me to complete the assembly of our sauna and we could not be more please with its appearance and functionality. They said they were going to send instructions on how to return to panels but ultimately offered to reimburse me for disposal costs. This allowed me to use some of the wood from the bad panels as the framing for the salt wall. I will probably use the remaining wood for planters or something else.

All through the process the customer service has been OUTSTANDING. The told me up front that they will do whatever they needed to do to make things right. I could not be happier with the customer service and they could not have done more to make things right for us.

So... I would not hesitate purchasing again from this company, they are legit and obviously very concerned with customer satisfaction.

So, now we have a beautiful sauna with an installed salt wall which offers additional health benefits over those offered from the sauna alone. The cedar was a perfect choice for us as the aroma inside is wonderful and very relaxing.

We bought the 4 person red cedar unit. We love it and the customer service was to notch.

We are very excited to have an at-home sauna and thus far we are really pleased with our experience both with the sauna and with the customer service from Salus Heat. I was a little bit apprehensive about how the build process would go, but overall it was smooth. I think it would help a little if the side walls were labeled "Left" or "Right" as we had to experiment a little before we knew we had the right configuration, but from there things went quickly. We've used the sauna for a little over a week now and we are really enjoying it. It holds heat well and it is a sturdy and hardy unit. I had to contact customer service for a couple of minor things, but the feedback was quick and they offered solid solutions to the problems we were experiencing. Overall, this has been a very positive experience.

We consider our purchase of this Wearwell sauna a good move! Definitely the best looking one we found....it looks so nice on the edge of our patio! We love it inside and out! There is only the 2 of us using it but we are glad we took the advice from other reviews and ordered the 4 person capacity. It's very comfortable for us!

My purchase experience was excellent from the start. The online purchase was easy, the communication with the seller was excellent, the delivery was excellent, and my son and I installed it easily using the directions provided. The quality of the sauna is very good and I really like the looks of it. I placed it on my back patio under my top deck and it fit perfectly and I really like the way it looks. Great quality.

We first ordered the 4-person 904VR unit in western red cedar last December. Shipping to our rural area of Colorado did not take too much longer than expected - e.g., 2 weeks plus vs. the 7-10 days expected. However, much to our dismay, 1 of the 3 shipping cartons contained a shattered glass door. Unfortunately, we were told, a single replacement carton could not be shipped, but that the entire unit had to be replaced. Then we were told that western red cedar was no longer even available and that it would not be back in inventory for another month or two. So we opted for the 904VT mahogany unit instead. That one too, though, arrived with a broken glass door that was inside the smallest of 3 shipping cartons and lying directly on a pallet - underneath 2 larger cartons weighing several hundred pounds! We were aghast and read of at least 2 other similar - and recent - shipping damage issues in reviews on resellers' web sites (but not posted on SalusHEAT's)! Why they wouldn't have tried to rectify this problem right after it was first reported, we'll never know or understand. After several deliveries and pick-ups (including one no-show), we finally received a complete unit to assemble after approximately 6 weeks. (To their credit, SalusHEAT made some concessions along the way, so we weren't entirely dissatisfied with the shipping damage and all of the related delays.) The instructions were clear despite a slight international language gap, the unit was easy enough to assemble and the 4 large side panels seemed to connect together well, but we had a dilemma. We now had to clear snow in order to put the sauna in the area where we wanted to temporarily set it up and use it for the winter, but it just did not appear sturdy enough to do so without securing all of the components with the screws provided. So we leveled it and used all of the screws, but did not seal the joints with the silicone caulk provided, knowing that we were going to be moving it in the spring, which would require disassembly. Perhaps it will be better next winter, but even with an optional sauna room cover on the unit and closed up, this 110V model can take an hour or more to heat up to 130 degrees when the outside temperatures are near freezing or below. That provides an additional inconvenience, since the timer can only be set to a maximum of 60 minutes, so we found ourselves powering it on, setting the timer for 60 minutes, then having to check the temperature AND reset the timer at least once, since the sauna temp would plummet if the 60 minutes ran out and the sauna shut off. (We realize that the 60-minute limit is likely safety-related, but it's still unfortunate that it cannot be overridden.) Overall, we're happy enough with performance and feel as though we got a good value, despite the shipping damage and delays. In hindsight, we like the mahogany and think that it will wear even better than cedar in our alpine environment. It might not have the aromatic qualities that the cedar is known for, but it is a denser, more durable wood. As such, some say that it transfers heat to the skin to a greater degree than cedar does, but this has not been an issue for us and people generally sit on towels anyway. We also don't think that the additional lighting or other features of the 904VR cedar unit justify the additional cost. We're happy with the interior lighting capabilities that we have, as well as the Bluetooth speakers that are adequate. In addition to the time that it takes to heat up (probably not an issue with 220V models) and having to reset the timer, the only other design and build flaw seems to be with the glass door - it's study enough, opens and closes easily and has a magnetic latch, but a better job could have been done to provide weatherstripping in the corners and near the hinges in order to prevent heat from escaping through visible openings. We can easily jury-rig something to remedy that ourselves, but the point is that the effort shouldn't be required for a product that cost thousands of dollars! One final thing that we're a bit dismayed about is the ongoing suggested periodic maintenance - for example, it is recommended that the bottom of the floor panel be treated with an anti-corrosive coating. This would require stripping 4 top-to-bottom beads of silicone caulk from the corners of the sauna, removal of dozens of screws and disassembly of the sauna! This is also something that could have been done better during the manufacturing process and will be a headache to perform, so is a big disappointment. Bottom line, though - if you want a good value in something that you can set up yourself and enjoy almost immediately, then these units seem to be a decent investment - "knock on wood!"

I purchased this a few months ago and have experienced excellent customer services with questions/concerns. I just started using it recently as it was warm in CA until recently. The quality is very good. The assembly was easy. I particularly like the smell of red cedar. So far everything is working very well.

We are very happy with our sauna. I was nervous with working with a new company but everyone we came into contact with was very helpful and responded quickly to our questions and concerns. My husband and I are were able to assemble the sauna without incident. Some pieces were heavy but we could do on our own. Assembly went well. We have been using for a month now and we love it! We did have an issue with a couple of lights not working but were sent replacement bulbs. We have not put in yet but do not foresee a problem. The 4 person is perfect for the 2 of us. We each have our own bench and space. Anything smaller would be too small for us. We are of normal height and weight. We placed the sauna under our gazebo on our deck to keep the sunlight and future snow off of it. The manual does say to keep out of direct sunlight. We highly recommend Salus Heat sauna.

The sauna arrived faster than promised, and was packaged securely. We use it almost daily and are happy with the quality. We chose to buy thru Factory Direct because we read so many horror stories and reviews. We are pleased with our purchase.
